Snow White: Trees and Leaves



When the witch appears with the poison apple, little birds emerge from a nearby tree to attack the old crone. Snow White innocently shoos them away.

Here are two versions of the tree and leaves. The first digitally eliminates the birds, revealing a lovely palette of autumn colors..

The second, as we've never seen it, recreates a pan shot (background) as the birds fly back to the tree.

Truly lovely artwork, typical of the care and attention to detail that went into all aspects of SNOW WHITE.

    Thanks for sharing these. I am a contract graphic artist for a city newspaper, and I majored in Fine Arts (drawing and painting) in College, so I appreciate these that you have shared. It's so easy to take backgrounds in animated movies for granted, but a lot of work goes into creating them.

    These are incredible. To think that the artists put so much work into paintings that would appear on screen so fleetingly is amazing.

    Of course we're able to pore over the images now thanks to dvd and the net but these artists didn't know that was going to happen!
