PETER PAN




Here are the three opening shots from PETER PAN. Pan backgrounds one and two, now re-created, are incredibly atmospheric. The clouds in both were animated in the forefront via the multiplane camera. The third piece is an aerial view of the Darling house and neighborhood.

    Although Walt Disney first invited Ellenshaw to work at the studio in the late 1940s, he is not listed in PETER PAN's credits. The IMDB list the following B/G artists: Ralph Hulett, Ray Huffine, Art Riley, Thelma Witmer, Al Dempster, Dick Anthony, Eyvind Earle, Brice Mack and Art Landy.

    Thanks Rob, this was the first Disney film I saw back in 1968 at my local cinema. It completely blew me away, particularly the flight scene.

    Peter Pan was also my first movie-it was re-released in the mid-seventies. The backgrounds are so gripping. There is so much detail, yet it still shows the fairy tale setting. Very magically vivid! I love the pictures you've shared here! Beautiful!
