This master background is from the touching scene in which Baloo tells Mowgli he must return to the man village. The color palette of aquamarine and greens is used often in the film. Absolutely gorgeous! I am quite taken by the cluster of foliage on the left, the delicate palm trees shadowing the skyline, and the wonderful tropical flowers on the far right. As Baloo would say, "Oh, man!"
What a perfect example of background design. It's easy to study and see why Disney artists were so good at putting the background information where it needed to be and blurred "playing area" to keep the characters uncluttered and always in focus. And the color scheme is inviting and fresh. Just beautiful!!!
